My Webpage


I went to Safari and did Control button with the U key. It brought me to a long coded page in black, green, red, and blue colored text. It took me several tries before I thought to click on the Windows key in the bottom left and type in "Notepad." Then I could start writing in the directions in the document page. I started with <html> Webpage and ended with </html>. Next, I typed <title>Hello All!!</title> to start and end the title. Then I typed in <body><body style="background-color:purple></body>. That made the webpage background this plume purple in the picture shown above. I added <marquee> to my title of "Hello All!!" to appear and slide sideways across the screen. I added an image of two puppies as shown above by clicking on the URL. As soon as I typed into the Windows key, "Notepad", I was then able to finish the rest of the directions to create this HTML page. I chose purple because it was my favorite color and I believe that everyone loves puppies. I saved the text file in my UWT August 2024-2025 folder under this class title. After I copied and pasted this link, after everything it would not open. It continued to say "blocked." So, I snipped a picture of the HTML webpage I created above into this final blog post. It took about an hour for two or three days to get this webpage completed. The directions of getting to "Notepad" were not the clearest. I had to search for that part online to figure out to find it in the bottom left screen in Windows key icon.

How is it that Yahoo is still accessible to users and Prodigy, CompuServ, AOL, Delphi, and Genie are not from this Dot.com Boom? What was the Second International World Wide Web about and what were the results of that conference in 1994? To me it seems that even though these companies were slow during the boom from 1995-1997, they still managed to have hundreds of thousands of users during at least the first year. I see the process of funding a business similar to those who go on Shark Tank. Money is fuel or food for a business to stay afloat. You cannot have a business succeed without money in funding to get started. Like the businesses that go on Shark Tank compared to other companies, they gather money from family and friends, have angel investors, collect grants and patents, and come up with bonds made from equity shares to the public people to raise capital.  I see Tom and Kaleil as opposites. Kaleil seems to be more calm and wanting govworks.com to be one of the first websites people go to for anything related to the government as well as parking tickets. Tom is more interested in building plans and having them online that the company saves on a server, putting it on a CD. Tom seems more rigid, even with the scene brushing his daughter's hair. Over the course of the documentary, I saw that Kaleil is more likely to get angry in a more private group of friends when the company has setbacks. Tom has different ideas of how to run govworks.com than Kaleil does. Kaleil wants the company to have a set function, while Tom likes to explore many different options and expand on what the company's functions could be, to the dismay of Kaleil not being on the same page as Tom in that regard.  I felt that the Online Scavenger hunt yesterday was fast paced. It felt that we getting one URL after the other in less than an hour's time. I learned some odd, obscure things from the 18 tasks we were supposed to find on the paper. I learned who Jimmy Buffet was, housing options on Redfin and Zillow, and what companies different search engines are apart of. The more answers I found with Abril Cota, i realized that I may not have found the real answers to the questions. If we ask the internet more in depth questions than the ones on the assignment paper, I do not know if the information would be accurate enough to answer it. Some of the tasks listed, my partner and I either were not able to find a URL to a task or we had to look long and hard for one. I believe that it is us who put answers into those links in the first place for other people to find on their computers.
